Android 应用的真正入口是哪里?

先说结论:“入口”是一个太笼统的概念,如果说Android应用进程是如何被启动的,那毫无疑问是ZygoteInit,但如果说Android应用中主线程的执行入口,则可以说是ActivityThread.main(),不过其实ActivityThread.main()也是在ZygoteInit中被反射调用的。

由于其中涉及的代码非常多,这里只罗列出一些重要的点。另外,下面的分析中涉及较多Zygote的知识,对Zygote不了解的童鞋,可以看我的Zygote系列博客:

下面以点击Launcher中某个icon启动应用为例,系统地分析Android中应用的启动过程。

首先,Launcher其实也是一个Activity,点击icon的事件处理如下:

startActivitySafely()最终会通过Binder通信调用到AMS中的startActivity(),如下为AMS中对应的方法:

为了启动App并使其Activity进入resumed状态,需要先使当前运行的Activity(也就是Launcher)进入Paused状态,在AMS中最终会调用到以下方法:

之后又通过Binder通信调用到ApplicationThread的如下方法:

执行该方法后,最终会调用Activity的performPause()方法:

这里可以看到onPause()这个回调。之后在handlePauseActivity()中会调用ActivityManagerNative.getDefault().activityPaused(token);通过Binder机制调用AMS中的activityPaused()方法,如下:

之后会有很多的跳转,最终调用startProcessLocked()方法:

最终调用的重载方法中有以下代码,注意这里传入了ActivityThread类的路径:

Process.start()实际上是调用Zygote来fork一个新的进程,并且在最后会调用ActivityThread的main()方法.AMS 所在的进程和 Zygote 所在的进程通过Socket通信,ZygoteInit中循环侦听Socket连接:

一旦建立一个ZygoteConnection,就调用runOnce()进行处理,runOnce()中的核心代码如下:

Zygote.forkAndSpecialize()最终会调用到一个naitve方法来fork进程,最后在子进程(即App进程)中执行handleChildProc()方法,代码如下:

注意最后面的ZygoteInit.invokeStaticMain()方法,就是在这里调用ActivityThread的main()方法,而main()方法的代码如下:

从这里开始,准备主线程的消息队列,并为App配置一个ActivityThread,再通过thread.attach()将ActivityThead,ApplicationThread与AMS关联起来,注意这里的ActivityThread才是属于刚刚启动的App进程的,之前的ApplicationThread和ActivityThread是属于Launcher所在的进程的,后续AMS通过Binder通知ActivityThread进行App中主线程的调度工作。

综上,说ActivityThread.main()是应用的入口也可以,但是不太严谨,因为App的启动是Zygote,AMS,ApplicationThread,ActivityThread等一起配合完成的。
